About

About Ellis Larkin

Ellis Larkin writes dark literary fiction. First person, confessional, and told flat: narrators who are calm about the things that should be loud, and particular about the things that should be small.

The reader supplies the feeling. The book only keeps the account.

These are not books that ask to be forgiven, and they are not books that arrive at peace. What they offer is the gap between what a narrator is willing to report and what it actually cost her. Readers of morally complex character studies and confessional literary crime will recognise the register.
